New Patient Information & Resources
How to Book An Appointment with Augusta Pain Center
If you’re ready to start your journey toward a pain-free life, you can schedule your initial visit with us by calling (706) 738-7246 or by messaging us using the chat tool in the bottom right corner of your screen. Please have your insurance card and availability ready, so we can help get your appointment confirmed as efficiently as possible.
Check-in from the Comfort of Home
We understand that for patients living with chronic or severe pain, sitting in a waiting room to fill out paperwork can be an uncomfortable experience. If you prefer to complete your patient registration paperwork online from the comfort of your home, Augusta Pain Center offers Phreesia Pre-visit, which allows you to fill out all new patient registration paperwork electronically.
You will receive an email with instructions and New Patient Questionnaire a few days prior to your scheduled appointment date from paperwork@augustapaincenter.com. If you have any problems submitting your information, please call our office at (706) 738-7246.
If you are unable to complete your New Patient Questionnaire from home, please arrive 45 minutes early to your first appointment to complete the questionnaire in our reception area. If you do not arrive 45 minutes prior to your initial visit, your appointment will be rescheduled for the next available opening.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
Please bring the following items to your first visit with APC:
- All medications you are currently taking, in their original containers
- Any recent MRI, CT Scan, X-ray, or other imaging reports
- Your Driver’s License or ID
- Your Insurance card
If you have any questions prior to your scheduled appointment, please do not hesitate to call our office at (706) 738-7246.
Billing & Financial Policies at Augusta Pain Center
You will receive a bill for physician services provided during your visit. Please note that this is separate from facility charges, which cover costs such as supplies, equipment, medications, and staff involved in your procedure. If you undergo a procedure, you will receive a separate bill from the AP Surgery Center facility. As a courtesy, we will file claims for physician services with your insurance company.
To ensure a smooth billing process, we ask that you provide accurate and up-to-date insurance information at each visit. While we work with your insurance provider, approval does not guarantee payment, and patients are ultimately responsible for any outstanding balances. Deductibles and co-pays are due at the time of service, and maintaining a current account is required for continued care.
For your convenience, we accept multiple payment methods, including cash, check, debit, credit cards, and money orders. We also offer flexible financing options through CareCredit to help make managing your healthcare expenses easier. More information on billing and accepted insurance providers is available here.
Frequently Asked Questions About Policies & Procedures
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
As our goal is always to meet the needs of our patients, we will make every effort to schedule your appointments as efficiently as possible. In return, it is your responsibility to make every effort to keep your scheduled appointments and to arrive at your specified time. At least twenty-four (24) hours is required for cancellations to avoid a charge that is not covered by your medical insurance policy.
We realize that unanticipated events can occur and may prevent you from keeping your appointment. In fairness and consideration to other patients, we request that you notify our office immediately when you realize you will not be able to keep your appointment.
A patient who does not show for an appointment and who does not give at least 24-hour notice will be charged a $40.00 cancellation fee. Cancellation fees may be required to be paid prior to future appointments. Patients that fail to show on three occasions may be discharged from the practice for non-compliance, and a letter will be sent to your referring physician, if applicable.
What if I run late for my appointment?
Patients who arrive late for their scheduled appointment times will be worked into the schedule whenever possible. This may include being seen at the end of the day instead of your originally scheduled time, or having your appointment rescheduled to the next earliest available time.
How long should I expect my appointment to take?
For every appointment, patients should plan to be here for one to three hours, however, this time may vary. We strive to keep to the scheduled appointment times. However, in a specialty practice there are some circumstances beyond our control that can result in longer wait times for everyone. We provide the necessary time and treatment for all of our patients and some may require more time than others for unforeseen reasons.
